Pianist Ralph van Raat is known for his pronounced affinity with American minimal music. In this concert, together with violinist Rosanne Philippens and soprano Laura Bohn, he presents a program in which rhythm, repetition, and vocal expression take center stage. The works of John Adams, Steve Reich, and Philip Glass demonstrate how these composers gave the classical concerto a new idiom, with room for movement, energy, and the human voice.
