Radio Philharmonic Orchestra Messiaen’s Turangalîla-Symphony
Messiaen's Turangalila Symphony.
The Radio Philharmonic Orchestra brings Messiaen's monumental Turangalîla Symphony to life under the baton of chief conductor Karina Canellakis. Since 1945, the orchestra has combined tradition with innovation and is known for its daring programming and performances of both classical and contemporary repertoire.
Messiaen's declaration of love to life is a whirling symphony full of ecstatic colours, oriental influences and jazz rhythms. In the hands of Canellakis and the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the dividing line between past and future fades and a pure musical sensation unfolds.
