Queer Poetry Nights is a free open mic celebrating queer voices through poetry and spoken word. Organized by Unwanted Words, it offers a safer space for self-expression, connection, and community—with a focus on LGBTQIA+ creators and allies.
Queer Poetry Nights is an open mic series organized by Unwanted Words, the first platform in the Netherlands dedicated to emerging queer poets. These evenings are free and open to anyone who wants to share or experience the power of queer voices—through poetry, spoken word, or performance.
We believe storytelling is a form of resistance, healing, and celebration. That's why we consciously create a safer space where LGBTQIA+ people—especially those who are less often heard—can express themselves freely, without judgment.
Whether you're a seasoned poet, performing for the first time, or simply want to listen and support, you're very welcome. Come as you are, share your words, and be part of a growing community that transforms so-called "unwanted" stories into unforgettable moments.
