Peace For Our Time - Konvooi / Orkater
In dark times, there will be singing. Let yourself be blown away by poppy protest songs and classical music
Can we still speak of peace if you have to fight for it? Orkatercollectief KONVOOI poses this question in a contemporary theatre album: Peace For Our Time.
Peace For Our Time is a musical journey through the history of European peace. Three figures, a prime minister, a pacifist and a journalist, take centre stage, each with their own questions of conscience and mistakes. From Neville Chamberlain shaking hands with Hitler, to Émile Arnaud betraying his pacifism in the First World War, and Andrii Kobaliya trading his pen for a weapon in Ukraine.
Following previous successes such as De Meester en Margarita and ILIAS, KONVOOI presents a theatrical concert. In the spirit of Neville, Émile and Andrii, they will stand for peace one more time by singing about it, with their own set of protest songs, ranging from classical and jazz to poppy protest songs.
