How can the KunstWerkt space transform into a space where artworks and space merge, leaving visitors wondering where space ends and art begins?
The starting point for this exhibition is the drawings Frans Hooykaas made in the 1960s for the "Pampus Plan," an expansion plan for Amsterdam by the architectural firm Van den Broek and Bakema.
The artists in this exhibition can manipulate these drawings and transform them into their own visual language. Which forms in this built environment lend themselves to this, and how does an artist approach this?
This exhibition is made possible in part by the Nieuwe Instituut Rotterdam, with thanks to Elza van den Berg.
Opening on Sunday, March 8 at 3:30 PM by Dirk van den Heuvel, head of the Jaap Bakema Study Centre.
Lectures by Frans Hooykaas on the "Pampus Plan" on Friday, March 13 and Sunday, March 22 at 3:00 PM. Please register in advance with Carine Hooykaas.
