An exhibition featuring work by Nikki Vroom & Winta Ghebre, with a soundscape by Pemakit Lepch and Eli Hooper.
For Flesh Remembers, Nikki Vroom will present new work at Het Archief Artspace – a sculpture, with human characteristics, conveying two powerful contrasts: freedom and despondency, and comfort and discomfort. Inspired by De verwoeste stad by Ossip Zadkine, both freedom and despondency in Nikki Vroom their work refer to the history of Rotterdam. Comfort and discomfort serve as a nod to the sorrow of this history – but also a strange comfort.
Winta Ghebre is a visual artist and graphic designer working with installation, performance, digital media and film. Her work explores the connections between different environments and the passage of time. Conventional ideas are transformed into fresh objects and languages. At Het Archief Artspace, Winta Ghebre will shed light on the often overlooked but important elements of our surroundings.
Flesh Remembers is free to visit every Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 PM until 3 August 2025 at Het Archief Artspace.
During the festive opening, Pemakit Lepch and Eli Hooper will introduce a soundscape created for this exhibition.
