Seventy-year-old Mahin has been living alone in Tehran for years. Her husband has passed away, her daughter lives in Europe, and her days follow a fixed, lonely routine. After a pleasant afternoon with friends, she decides it is time to give her life a new turn. Why shouldn't she be able to fall in love again at her age? Her search leads her to Faramarz, a friendly taxi driver who, like her, longs for companionship and a little joy in life. Mahin invites him to her home to eat her favourite cake. What follows is an evening that is as unexpected as it is unforgettable. This heartwarming and sometimes hilarious film about love, loneliness, and the desire for freedom also contains a subtle indictment of the oppression in Iran.
