The six-part vocal ensemble invites you to pause for a moment, away from the noise of everyday life. With a program that stretches the boundaries of vocal expression, they bring together music from different centuries.
From original works to new arrangements of American composers such as Kerry Marsh, Ellen Gilson Voth, Don MacDonald, Blake Morgan and JVKE – each piece reflects the versatility and richness of their voices. As the only professional six-part female a cappella group in the US, Lyyra offers a new and compelling sound.
LYYRA
LYYRA is a vocal ensemble consisting of six young women with backgrounds in classical singing, opera and new music. They combine musical excellence with a contemporary feel and program both old and new music with a fresh, theatrical approach. LYYRA is ensemble in residence at VOCES8 and collaborates with various international composers and festivals.
