A hilariously recognizable performance about intergenerational confusion of tongues, good intentions and (self)acceptance, from the makers of Who's afraid of Oscar Wilde.
When her friends cancel their annual weekend away at the last minute, Andrea, in her late fifties, asks her lesbian daughter Joosje to join her at the luxury holiday bungalow in Katwijk. Joosje has been at home with a burnout for six months and doesn't want to disappoint her mother again. But because a weekend alone with her mother seems like hell on earth, she convinces her best friend Laurens to come along. And now the three of them are stuck in rainy Katwijk. Joosje can only sleep, Laurens tries to please everyone and Andrea had imagined it all very differently.
When Andrea finds the manuscript of her new book in Joosje's bag, in which she settles accounts with her upbringing and the role her mother played in it, the luxurious bungalow turns into a verbal battlefield before dessert and even Laurens' culinary delights cannot save the sour atmosphere.
