KATWIJK - Compagnie Red Yellow & Blue

Queer. Burnt out. And your mother.

A performance about family ties

A relatable performance about communication breakdowns between generations, good intentions, and (self-)acceptance. The creators of Who's afraid of Oscar Wilde present this new piece. A tragicomic story about intergenerational relationships, identity, and mental health takes center stage. It presents an intimate portrait of two generations who want to understand each other but struggle to do so.

Holiday in Katwijk

When friends cancel their annual weekend getaway, Andrea invites her lesbian daughter Joosje. Joosje is suffering from burnout and doesn't want to disappoint her mother. She asks her best friend Laurens to come along to make the weekend less awkward. The group ends up in a rainy Katwijk. Joosje sleeps a lot, Laurens tries to entertain everyone, and Andrea had envisioned something different for their joint vacation.

Verbal battlefield

Andrea discovers the manuscript of Joosje's new book. In it, Joosje settles accounts with her upbringing and the role of her mother. The luxury bungalow turns into a verbal battlefield. Even Laurens's culinary skills cannot save the sour atmosphere. A captivating piece of text-based theatre that deserves packed houses.
