Jorge Rossy Vibes Quartet

Jorge Rossy is considered one of the most influential drummers of his generation; he can be heard on more than two hundred recordings with musicians such as Brad Mehldau, Mark Turner, Joshua Redman and Kurt Rosenwinkel, and toured with icons such as Charlie Haden, Wayne Shorter, Lee Konitz and Joe Lovano. In addition, he developed his own voice on vibraphone and marimba, which he showcased on his ECM debut Puerta (2021) and on the duo albums The Wait with Kevin Hays and Red on Maroon with Michael Kanan. For this new quartet, Rossy sticks to the mallets, in constantly changing roles: sometimes he shares the front line with the trumpet, sometimes he provides the harmonic and rhythmic foundation. Trumpeter Milena Casado, called a revelation by The New York Times, released her debut Reflection of Another Self last year. Bassist Robert Landfermann won, among others, the Deutscher Jazzpreis (2022) and the Swedish drummer Cornelia Nilsson debuted with Where Do You Go? Rossy has played with all three individually before, but this is their first performance as a group, with his compositions and arrangements as a starting point. This autumn, the quartet will release their album 11 Years. Line-up: Milena Casado - trumpet Robert Landfermann - double bass Cornelia Nilsson - drums Jorge Rossy - vibraphone, marimba
