Her Ensemble celebrates over 2000 years of female composers with an innovative mix of classical, pop and immersive lighting. This all-female & non-binary string orchestra brings not only music, but also a powerful statement.
Only 5% of the world’s classical music programming is still composed by women. Her Ensemble , the UK’s first string orchestra for women and non-binary musicians, is changing that with a programme celebrating over 2,000 years of female composers.
Born from the European Union Youth Orchestra, Her Ensemble brings together some of the most sought-after musicians from the British orchestral and chamber music scene. With a groundbreaking mix of classical and pop, their own arrangements of works by Hildegard von Bingen, Mahler and Boulanger, and atmospheric artistic lighting, they redefine the classical concert experience.
