Frontaal x The Writer’s Guide: Community Care: met Zaïre Krieger oa
We live in a time when climate change, (impending) wars, financial uncertainty, and the ever-growing influence of the far right leave their mark on everything we do. How can you still create art when a genocide is taking place, write about a future when that future is anything but certain, or take to the barricades when it turns out time and again that your protests are brushed aside?
Perhaps it doesn't make much sense to write for a better world anymore; perhaps the best thing we can do now is care for each other, for our community. In this special edition of Frontaal x The Writer's Guide, we explore the role community and care play in the lives of young writers. What can we do for each other, how do we care for one another, and how do we support each other as writers and (intersectional) feminists?
Zaïre Krieger performs and, guided by Mojdeh Feili, engages in conversation with three young writers (who, coincidentally or not so coincidentally, all take or have taken classes from her): Kylie Lyandra, Gauri Malhoe, and Anissa El Mazouzi. There is also music by Morèl, and the afternoon is hosted by Chido Schurgers.
