When sound and movement come together, an exciting dialogue between music and dance is created. DoelenEnsemble and Lloydscompany join forces in an intense program full of energy, rhythm and physical expression.
From the hypnotic repetition of Fitkin's Slow and the hushed tension of Shalygin's Bridge, to the physical outburst of Aperghis' Le Corps à corps and the pulsating rhythms of Steve Reich – this evening is a quest for the boundaries of music and movement.
A sensory experience in which every note and every movement is felt, and the body becomes as much an instrument as the music itself.
GoalsEnsemble
The DoelenEnsemble is a leading Rotterdam ensemble for contemporary music and music theatre. With a strong connection to the Rotterdam School, the ensemble works on innovative concert forms, educational courses and cross-over projects. The line-up changes per project, with a permanent core group of musicians. Artistic director Maarten van Veen and a changing artist in residence determine the course.
