DoelenEnsemble Voices of Angels
Imagine this happening to you: you are just three years old when you receive a vision! Hildegard von Bingen (1078-1179) revealed that she understood that she was receiving visions at the age of five.
At the age of 42, Hildegard had a vision that she believed was an instruction from God: “and again I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Let yourself be heard and write it down!!” In that vision she heard the music 'Voices of Angels'. A composition of rare beauty. Hildegard's angelic melody is about the veneration of women: from her womb everyone originated. She is the savior and makes earth and heaven in harmony. This music inspired the DoelenEnsemble to merge her work with Death Speaks, in which composer David Lang uses the text from Schubert's song cycles, in which death speaks to us.
