Djumbala! (2+) Oorkaan

Vernon, Lidrick and Angelo meet up outside in an unknown place. It is late and cold, but sssswoosh… the waves make a beautiful sound. They close their eyes to listen better. Djumbala Djumbala, that sounds like music! They want to make such beautiful music themselves too. They drum on everything they find. There are even objects you can whistle on. The friends become happy and sometimes a little sad from it. When they tap with the bamboo sticks at the same time, it seems as if they are one instrument. The fire of their friendship ignites and will keep them warm forever.

Djumbala! is a musical performance by Oorkaan with Vernon Chatlein, Angelo Ursini and Lidrick Solognier. The music is inspired by the Afro-Curaçaose tradition, with rhythms, voices, whistles and natural instruments. Together they take you into a warm world full of energy. The audience is allowed to join in and becomes part of the performance. This creates a playful encounter between music, people and cultures.
