Book Launch Paulo Nimer Pjota: A Lua e Eu (The Moon and I)
Kunstinstituut Melly warmly invites you on Saturday, 13 September 2025 (3:00–5:00 PM) to the celebratory launch of the new book by Brazilian artist Paulo Nimer Pjota, A Lua e Eu (The Moon and I). The book accompanies his solo exhibition at Melly and provides a rich insight into his visual language, which blends personal memories, Brazilian popular culture, and universal symbols.
The event in the Melly Cantina features a conversation with the artistPaulo Nimer Pjota, Director Gabi Ngcobo, and writer/researcher MF Andrade. Together, they explore recurring themes in Pjota’s work: the dialogue between individual and society, the interplay of past and present, and the poetic resonance of everyday life. The discussion will be complemented by music in an informal setting, with refreshments provided for all attendees.
The book launch is open to the public. It is a unique opportunity to engage with Paulo Nimer Pjota’s work, meet the creators, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Kunstinstituut Melly: one of Rotterdam’s most innovative contemporary art spaces.
