Belly of the Whale: Day 2
Art-Gang and WORM are organising a group exhibition with 17 artists who worked on the theme "Belly of the Whale". Discover artworks that take you on a journey of transformation and self-discovery.
About Belly of the Whale
In a world full of crises, Belly of the Whale invites you to pause and reflect on change. The exhibition explores the idea that we find ourselves in a figurative "belly of the whale." We do not know how we got here and what happens next. What do you discover when you face the truth? What do you find in the whale? What do you find in yourself?
The hero's journey
This story is as old as art and religion. Think of the myth of Jonah, who survives 3 days inside a sea creature and emerges changed. Joseph Campbell saw this as a crucial part of the hero's journey. The "belly of the whale" represents a place of rebirth, where the hero enters to renew the world. This journey is not only personal, but also influences the world around us. What will you do with the life that awaits you after the whale?
Art-Gang presents
Art-Gang and WORM are collaborating on this project. 17 artists worked in a community for 3 months and created art for this exhibition. They participated in workshops and visited various art disciplines. This project is part of SKILLS COURT and is organised via MDT.
