In the woods outside Vienna, composer Ludwig van Beethoven found blissful peace. This gave him inspiration for the Pastoral Symphony . This symphony is known as one of Beethoven's most blissful works. You experience the calm and beauty of nature through the music.
Webern's inspiration
Anton Webern was inspired by Beethoven. He, too, sought peace outside the city. Webern spent time in the mountains, which resulted in his own symphony. This work is tender and clear, like a snowflake sparkling in the sun. The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra brings these works to life.
