Film

Tao Okamoto and Virginie Efira walk through Paris and philosophize about a better world, in this delightfully long film by Ryûsuke Hamaguchi (_Drive My Car_). Marie-Lou, director of a care home in Paris, tries to break conventions with an innovative care method.

She encounters fierce resistance from her team, who do not find putting the wishes and dignity of the residents completely central to be workable. Marie-Lou's life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Mari, a Japanese theatre director who is fighting cancer. As a close friendship develops between the two women, they join forces in the struggle to make the impossible possible.
