A Simple Life
Portrays the lives of two very ordinary people from Hong Kong in a moving way.
With mild humour, Ann Hui, the leading lady of Asian cinema, sketches the moving story of a single young film producer (Andy Lau) and his elderly housekeeper. Winner of the Silver Lion for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival. Housekeeper Chun-Tao (Deanie Ip) has worked for the family of a film producer (Andy Lau) for generations. When she falls ill, he decides to reverse the roles and take care of her. In an observational and simple style, director Ann Hui records how two ordinary people interact with each other in an everyday way.
