Ripa Na Tulipa brings the atmosphere of a traditional roda de samba to the Kantine van OASE, with live samba and pagode. This edition kicks off with a forró workshop and a dance party.
About Ripa Na Tulipa Ripa Na Tulipa is a samba and pagode band founded in 2020 that is committed to bringing the tradition of the rodas de samba to Rotterdam. A roda de samba is a beloved Brazilian tradition where musicians gather around a table to play samba together, bringing people together through music and dance. Through their monthly gatherings, Ripa Na Tulipa aims to bring different communities together to celebrate samba and Brazilian culture. What can you expect? This edition starts with the collective Bora Brasil, which takes over with a forró workshop and a dance party, after which Ripa Na Tulipa closes the evening with a live roda de samba. The repertoire of Ripa Na Tulipa varies from cheerful, danceable samba to more nostalgic and melancholic songs, with music by well-known artists and composers such as Fundo de Quintal, Arlindo Cruz, Dona Ivone Lara, Revelação, João Nogueira and Jovelina Pérola Negra. Whether you are already familiar with Brazilian music or are experiencing a roda de samba for the first time, everyone is welcome to join in. Dinner OASE’s Kantine serves nutritious, affordable dishes. The kitchen is open from 17:00 to 20:30.
