50 jaar The Last Waltz

Presented by Dawn Brothers & Friends!

Exactly fifty years after The Band's legendary farewell concert, Rotterdam's Dawn Brothers are bringing The Last Waltz to Dutch theaters. With only thirteen concerts in November and December 2026, this isn't a tour you'll "do again," but a rare opportunity to be there. The performance at De Doelen is part of this exceptionally limited series.

On November 25, 1976, The Band said their farewell at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. The concert was immortalized in Martin Scorsese's famous film and became a cultural landmark. With their idiosyncratic blend of rock, folk, country, and blues, The Band left an indelible mark on music history and laid the foundation for what we call Americana today.

The Dawn Brothers have deeply rooted their sound in the folk-rock and Americana tradition. With their harmonies and raw, energetic live performance, they are undoubtedly the perfect band to carry this tribute. It's no wonder they've been performing on leading stages for years, from North Sea Jazz to Americanafest in Nashville.

& Friends: An evening full of musical heavyweights

For this special Rotterdam edition, the Dawn Brothers are joined by a selection of exceptional guest artists. Together, they represent a cross-section of the gems of the contemporary Dutch roots and Americana scene, complemented by leading international musicians based in the Netherlands.

On stage at De Doelen will be soul powerhouse Michelle David, singer-songwriter Tim Knol, the charismatic voice of Cato van Dijck (My Baby), spoken-word artist and performer Nico Dijkshoorn, blues virtuoso Ian Siegal, drummer and singer Darryl Ciggaar, yéyé pop icon Fleur Elman and of course Pablo van de Poel, guitarist of DeWolff, the band the Dawn Brothers proudly count among their musical 'besties'.

50 Years of The Last Waltz at De Doelen Rotterdam is a one-of-a-kind live experience celebrating a legendary concert with the energy and urgency of today. An evening you won't want to miss.
