Workshop boekbinden met Felipe Mujica

During the final weekend of Draw Withdraw Redraw, Felipe Mujica presents his new artist's book Mijn Klok Staat Stil. In this workshop, participants will get to work binding the publication themselves. Under the guidance of Mujica, they will learn the pamphlet stitch, a simple binding technique often used for zines and other small publications. Mijn Klok Staat Stil documents the embroidery workshop that Felipe Mujica led prior to the exhibition. The publication contains risoprints and digital color copies of drawings from his sketchbook. This sketchbook, with its own grid and internal logic, forms the starting point for his textile projects. The drawings stem from research into Western and indigenous traditions of geometric abstraction, and into various regional textile traditions. Based on a fixed set of rules, new compositions are created each time through small variations and extensions. The workshop is accessible to everyone. Experience with bookbinding is not required.
