Willem de Kooning Academy proudly presents the graduation films of the 2026 graduates at the Graduation Film Festival in KINO. We have a program full of fiction films, animation films, documentaries, hybrid films, and Q&A's with the makers!

New generation animated films

WdKA Animation Shorts: Now or Never is a program featuring graduation films by students of the Willem de Kooning Academy. The six short animated films show how young makers view the world around them. The themes vary widely: from fleeing a collapsing world and the hidden stories of everyday objects to an alien being that must choose between duty and love. Also featured are a girl fetching water for her sick grandfather, a story about belonging, and a film about forgotten mythological truths. Following the screenings, there will be a Q&A with the graduating students.
