During Heilige Huisjes, the heavy wooden doors of the former Norwegian Seamen's Church – now the Norwegian Cultural House – open for an entire weekend dedicated to Vikings, stories and imagination.
For two days, the Vikings take over the building. Inside and outside, there is plenty to discover: from Norse mythology to Viking food, from historical lectures to board game tournaments.
For the first time in 1000 years, a Viking ship will even come to Rotterdam! The Viking ship Dorestad-1 will be in the Veerhaven for the entire weekend, open to everyone. If you really want to feel like a Viking, you can even go on the Maas!
For children there are workshops where they can practice runic writing and Viking art, and lots of games! Afterward, you will have earned your place in Walhalla in the form of a Viking diploma!
