Workshop series basket weaving in the food forest

Interwoven Life is an invitation to move with the rhythms of the season.

In the food forest of Trompenburg Tuinen & Arboretum you discover together with the managers of our food forest 'De Overtuin' how you can live in connection with the landscape, the seasons, the plants and their flavors. By observing, harvesting and processing together, you learn from the (food) forest and from each other.

A food forest is not just about plants, but also about weaving relationships. Together we weave a basket per season: literally, to be able to harvest and process what grows – and figuratively, as a symbol for the connection between people, seasons and ecosystems. The Interwoven Life activities always take place at the transition between two seasons.

What are we going to do?

Per activity you can expect the following: an introduction to the food forest, gathering knowledge about what is growing and blooming at that moment, gaining experience with harvesting and processing and making a suitable wickerwork. You go home with a unique wickerwork and harvest to enjoy at home.

You can participate in one afternoon or participate in the entire series.
