Track: Wi Ala Koto Du Theater Rotterdam / Romana Vrede / Tailors & Wearers
During the TRACK Wi Ala Koto Du, you will experience theatre, dance, music, fashion and heritage in unexpected places along a route through the building. This TRACK builds on an age-old Surinamese storytelling tradition that emerged in the aftermath of slavery.
In this, the Du became an artistic and spiritual space for expression, resistance and community. This contemporary Du is a modern folk opera, a collective performance in which voices, bodies and stories of the Afro-Surinamese diaspora come together.
In collaboration with Tailors & Wearers, a Rotterdam heritage collective dedicated to preserving, passing on and renewing Afro-Surinamese fashion heritage.
