The Space Choir – Benefietconcert
The Space Choir is giving 4 benefit concerts in de Doelen. The audience will take a musical walk through the building with 1 of the 4 Rotterdamse choir groups, accompanied by guest artists Jeangu Macrooy, KYARA and a special guest.
Intimate and acoustic
The Space Choir is taking a different approach than usual. There is no backing band and no uptempo songs. The choir sounds intimate and acoustic. Sometimes the choir itself takes centre stage, sometimes it forms the background for guest artists Jeangu Macrooy and KYARA. The 3 Rotterdam conductors contribute to the programme with their own projects KUZKO, Sophia Habib and Huize Lucas.
Inclusive choir
The Space Choir has 500 Rotterdam members. Experienced and inexperienced singers, twenty-somethings and pensioners, and members from the queer community stand side by side on stage.
Proceeds for charity
The proceeds from ticket sales go to Stichting De Vrolijkheid, which provides cultural education for children in asylum seekers' centres, and Trans United Europe, which is committed to the rights and acceptance of trans people. Afterwards, there is an opportunity to drink glühwein in the foyer.
Concert routes
There are 4 routes: round 1 at 18:10 (Monday group 1), round 2 at 18:50 (Monday group 2), round 3 at 19:30 (Tuesday group) and round 4 at 20:20 (Wednesday group). Please note: the concert is not accessible to people with limited mobility.
