The Cycle of Love

In 1975, young Indian man PK falls in love with the Swedish Lotta. When she returns home, he gets on a second-hand bicycle, with barely any money in his pocket, for a journey of more than 10,000 kilometres to find her again. What follows is a trek through unknown countries, over mountain passes and through endless landscapes, constantly dependent on the help of people he meets along the way. PK is a Dalit, a so-called 'untouchable': born at the bottom of the Indian caste system, destined for a life of poverty and exclusion. At the same time, an astrologer makes a special prediction about his future beloved at his birth. The meeting with Lotta in New Delhi seems to make this prophecy come true. But when she does not keep her promise to look him up again, that becomes the question. Oscar-winning director Orlando von Einsiedel _(The White Helmets)_ brings this true story to life by retracing the journey with PK and a young actor who portrays him.
