Teckel Nina van Tongeren | Theater Bellevue
How do you tell a spicy story that people would rather avoid? By just telling it, hopefully and with a dose of humor.
Teckel is a performance about a word we would rather not use.
Accompanied by teen music from around 2010 and a number of everyday heroes, a young woman struggles with the question: if you carry a story that no one wants to listen to, what do you do? In Teckel, she explores, searching and probing, her experiences with child sexual abuse. What influence does this have on the adult woman she is now.
The performance places the shame back on the perpetrator and bystanders who choose to look away.
