Finally, the time has come: Sam is coming to stay with Philine. Philine has stayed with him 100,000 times, but he's never stayed with her. He's homesick. And now he's spending an entire weekend in a strange house, with different customs and Philine's Moluccan grandmother living in the garden shed. He has no choice, because his parents are on a business trip. Philine can hardly wait and has put together a whole program. Sam is dreading it. He also has to practice for his Scout cooking badge. How is he going to manage that when Philine's grandmother spends all day preparing complicated Indonesian dishes and only speaks Indonesian? Fortunately, despite all their differences, Philine and Sam are, above all, best friends. So together they'll solve this problem too.
"Stamppot en papeda" is a multimedia performance about feeling at home, different cultures, and what it's like at home. The performance is a perfect fit for the Citizenship and People & Society lessons.
