BackBone creates dance that gets close and makes you think about yourself and the world around you. Based on the values of hip hop, a style emerges that is powerful, honest and direct. The choreographies are physical and intense and tell stories that touch upon how we live and live together. What is your role in society and how do you relate to others?
Under the leadership of Donna Chittick, BackBone continues to build a recognisable style in which movement and content come together. The dance is grounded and pure, with room for personal stories and social themes.
