Roosbeef sounds quirky and unpredictable: Dutch-language indie pop with playful melodies, rough edges, and poetic lyrics. The band is coming to LantarenVenster with brand-new music.
Roosbeef is the band centered around singer and songwriter Roos Rebergen. Since their breakthrough, the group has grown into one of the most distinctive voices in Dutch-language music. Rebergen is considered one of the most influential lyricists of her generation. Her songs are simultaneously playful, disruptive, moving, and relatable.
In 2024, Roos released an album with the SunSunSun Orchestra string quartet featuring classical arrangements of her songs. Meanwhile, she worked on new material. That process was overshadowed by the passing of band member and friend Tom Pintens and a period in which Rebergen withdrew to work on her mental health.
With 'Binnensmonds' and 'De Leugen', Roosbeef announces a sixth studio album. In this way, Roosbeef continues to reinvent herself, without ever losing her unique voice.
