RIDCC 2024

The competition

RIDCC is proud to present this dynamic and unique event, where sixteen selected choreographers compete for promising prizes. During the preliminary rounds on June 20 and 21, you will witness sixteen duets, in all possible dance styles. On Saturday, June 24, the event will conclude with a grand finale with the duets selected by a prestigious jury. From this selection, the jury chooses the winner of the XL Production Award, while the partners of RIDCC choose the winners of the Partner Awards from all sixteen participants. Finally, while enjoying a drink and a snack, you decide which talented choreographer will receive the Audience Award. All winners of RIDCC 2024 will be announced during a festive awards ceremony.

Special this edition is the performance of participants of RIDCC 2018, Danae and Dionysios (Greece), who return with two location performances. The afternoon performance Napi, the girl and the bubble, also suitable for young audiences, is inspired by Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro. This choreography tells the story of a fascinating friendship between a girl and a mysterious but familiar creature. In addition, the choreographic duo presents their latest work Fάrιsa, which follows two characters in their desire for connection and contact. Both plays will be performed on Friday and Saturday as an outdoor performance (four in total), on the Schouwburgplein.
