Poetry International Festival Rotterdam - Dag 3

During the very first Poetry Summit, Poetry International brings together an exceptional selection of nationally and internationally awarded poets. This special edition is curated by Poet of the Netherlands Babs Gons and celebrates poetry in all its rich manifestations. The programme includes big names such as Simon Armitage, Jean D'Amérique, Benzokarim, Dana Cermane (sign language poet) and Derek Otte. For children there is the Junior Poetry Summit (7+), an interactive performance with music and poetry, based on the work of Bette Westera. In addition, there is an extensive range of performances in sign language and visual vernacular, with which the festival offers space to deaf and hearing-impaired poets. In the programme Woorden Worden Zinnen the full breadth of contemporary spoken word art is celebrated – including an inspiring conversation between Akwasi and Erik Jan Harmens.
