Performance door cellist Nina Hitz en vocalist Tisa World

One of the works in Garage Rotterdam's exhibition Unknown Landscapes, is the installation Becoming Alphabet (2023) by Katarina Zdjelar. "The graceful glass forms in Becoming Alphabet (2023), refer to an alphabet that is being created or rediscovered – possibly as a representation of forgotten or unknown forms of expression. These forms resemble a dance or fragmented sentences, composed of 'orphan-signs': symbols or letters that stand alone or have no connection to established systems. Becoming Alphabet invites visitors to imagine a collective engagement with the 'unknown', and poses this as an open, speculative question about togetherness in the making.”

During a special performance on Wednesday, July 9, the installation Becoming Alphabet invites artists Nina Hitz and Tisa World to improvise.

Prior to the performance, curator Cynthia Jordens will give a tour of the exhibition Unknown Landscapes and Katarina Zdjelar will elaborate on her installations at Garage Rotterdam.
