Pauluskerk x IFFR Filmclub

Come to the Rotterdamse Pauluskerk for a special film evening. On the programme is the feature film Porte Bagage by Abdelkarim and Asma El-Fassi. The Pauluskerk is a place for meeting and support, where all Rotterdammers who could use a helping hand are welcome. And that also applies to this evening: everyone is welcome. About Porte Bagage Noor (30) cares for her headstrong father Musa (76), who suffers from dementia. When she is offered her dream job as a chef in Paris, she faces a choice between career and family. To make her brothers and sister understand the seriousness of their father's condition, Noor arranges an appointment with the neurologist. After the death of a good friend, Musa expresses his wish to return to Morocco. Initially sceptical, Noor begins to see this as her way out – helping her father remigrate while she finally pursues her own dreams of independence. Despite resistance from her brother Farid, she manages to convince her brothers to go on a road trip, where they face their past and their uncertain future. The film is spoken in Dutch and Arabic and has English subtitles.
