Ongegrond – Future Citizens New Dutch Connections

How do you find your place in a world where you don't always seem to belong?

Ongegrond tells the true story of Antoni. He was born as a Roma in Macedonia and grew up in difficult circumstances. As a child, he fled with his family to Western Europe. There, he had to deal with poverty, uncertainty, and exclusion. He slept on the streets and often had to fight for a better future.

Yet Ongegrond is not a heavy story about what went wrong. It is actually an inspiring story about resilience, humor, and perseverance. About a father who finds his own way, about opportunities that arise when someone believes in you, and about the power of human attention.

Actor Dragan Bakema, together with musician Oleg Fateev, brings this extraordinary life story to life with theater and live music. An impressive performance about starting over, finding your place, and the people who make a difference along the way.

Ongegrond shows that one encounter can sometimes be enough to start a new chapter.
