At least, that was the plan. But it starts right at the entrance: Elias gets tangled in an endless series of curtains and cloths before he has even reached the audience. And when he finally stands there, reality proves to be more stubborn than the dream.

One night with Elias is an intimate solo performance that peels away, layer by layer, what it means to 'be' there. It is not comedy. It is not stand-up. But it looks so suspiciously like it, that it might just be that.

Elias De Bruyne has previously created several performances that were received with acclaim; De voorstelling met misschien wel de langste opkomst ooit was nominated for the VSCD mime & performanceprijs 2022, Euhm… in vijf bedrijven was a critic's choice. Recently, he worked on and performed in the production We’re all alone in this together by Kim Karssen, nominated for the VSCD mime & performance prijs 2025.

As an actor, Elias has performed with Theater Artemis (Het Beste van mij, Het eind van het begin van het einde, (…..) een voorstelling die schijt heeft aan zijn eigen vage titel, Dans is lekker ritmisch bewegen op muziek, ruzie, oorlog, Best wel jammer als je hier niet bij bent), BVDS (Our house), Maas Theater en Dans, Frascati Producties and HNT.
