There are people who have worked at BIRD. And there are people who built BIRD. DJ Wooldrik undoubtedly belongs in that latter category.

When BIRD was still very much in development, he was cooking up a storm in a second-hand kitchen. With creativity, craftsmanship, and a healthy dose of Rotterdam stubbornness, he turned every service into an adventure.

Anyone who knows DJ knows that he never colors within the lines. He built his own wood-fired ovens, experimented with fire, smoke, and flavor, and saw possibilities where others saw obstacles. Even his self-built distiller, with which he made moonshine, grew into a legendary story after it was seized by customs. Stories like that are just as much a part of BIRD's history as the music that came out of the speakers.

For one evening, DJ returns to the place where he helped shape BIRD's kitchen. He curates a special menu inspired by the dishes, flavors, and memories from the early years. A celebration of the adventure, the creativity, and the people who have made BIRD what it is today.

In addition, writer, music lover, and friend of BIRD and Derk Jan, Wilfried de Jong, will provide the soundtrack for the evening with a special vinyl selection. Wilfried has previously written with great admiration about the DJ and his unconventional way of cooking and living. His love for music and stories makes him the perfect guest to provide the musical backdrop for this evening.

An evening full of good food, tall tales, special music, and old acquaintances. An evening where we go back together to the time when BIRD consisted of dreams, guts, and people who just got started.
