Grahl, Bartók and Haydn
The Münchener Kammerorchester is coming to de Doelen with violinist Leila Josefowicz and conductor Bas Wiegers for a programme in which new music and classical repertoire reinforce one another. Central to the programme is a new work by Trevor Grahl, commissioned by the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and the Münchener Kammerorchester, in which the possibilities of the string orchestra are re-explored. Bartók's Violin Concerto No. 2 will be heard in a transparent version for chamber orchestra, followed by Haydn's Symphony No. 102, in which clarity, energy and a sense of form come together.
