At the special request of Stichting Jazz010 and in the context of North Sea Round Town, pianist Miran Noh has put together an all-women quartet. They play original pieces by Miran Noh and saxophonist Femke Mooren.
South Korean Miran Noh, winner of the Erasmus Jazz Prize 2021, has been a much sought-after pianist since graduating from the jazz program at Codarts. In addition to her own band NOHMI, she is also a member of Su Nichel, the Anita Petruescu Group and Dareyn. She recently won the Keep an Eye The Records Award.
Alto saxophonist Femke Mooren, winner of the Princess Christina Jazz Competition and the Women in Jazz Prize in 2023, is just as busy. In addition to her own quartet, she plays in the Nino Nevyjel Quintet and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, among others.
Patricia Mancheño is a versatile bassist. Educated at Codarts with a bachelor's degree in jazz and a master's degree in latin. She is the permanent bassist of NOHMI and of the Rotterdam world music band Son de Aquí.
Drummer Eva Korse plays in various bands, in various musical styles. As a musician, she also likes to look beyond the boundaries of her own discipline and wants to develop herself as broadly as possible. In addition to her work as a performing musician, Eva likes to pass on her passion for music to others and she works as a drum teacher, band coach, workshop leader and music teacher in secondary education.
