With the melodies of babelfis and the images of video artist Mert Akbal, the performance navigates Meryem's path to empowerment, interweaving migration and gender experiences.

babelfis is an indie duo consisting of musicians Sevda Hamzacebi and Cem Dinler. Founded in Istanbul and now based in Berlin, the band draws inspiration from the various influences they grew up with. With both Western and Eastern roots and a range of other personal influences, the duo fuses all these experiences into surprising new forms of musical and poetic expression.
