Tanja Boxman Exhibition

Tanja Boxman and her inspiration

Tanja Boxman, born in and still living and working in Vlaardingen, has her studio on Curaçaolaan. Together with her husband, she has traveled extensively. These travels were an important source of inspiration for her art. She found inspiration in fountains, Parisian and Roman statues, harbors, and pilgrimages, but also in themes such as decay, mourning, and farewell. Dance and the human body often recur in her work.

The art of Tanja Boxman

Tanja Boxman is a versatile artist. She creates prints using techniques such as etching, lithography, linocut, woodcut, screen printing, and milk cartons. While traveling, she makes sketches and necklaces from waste materials. Her colleagues Mirjam Boomert and Elly van Baalen use these necklaces as the basis for a growing installation. Colleagues Jan van Dorp, Harry Schumacher, and Mirjam Boomert took the initiative for this exhibition because Tanja is now physically limited.
