One-man show full of true stories from a wondrous childhood
What do the songs of a Beatle and the life of a boy from the provinces have in common? Nothing. Except that while the songs stormed the radio, the boy was living his adventurous youth. Yesterday, Penny Lane, and Can't Buy Me Love; one masterpiece after another filled the airwaves, while Hope, Misery, Happiness, and Sorrow shaped the soul of a growing youth.
In YESTERDAY, Kees Prins tells stories from his youth. Not gratuitous anecdotes without substance. Real stories with a beginning and an end, with as much humor as tragedy, with bravado as well as compassion. Every story has its own song.
In this lighthearted and moving coming-of-age performance YESTERDAY, Kees Prins sings Paul McCartney's songs, with the latter as a 'fly on the wall'. And all of this is true.
