Feminist hip-hop drama about growing up with a cult mother.
Young Park dreams of becoming a rapper. Two problems: the hip-hop world is predominantly male and his mother Marga, a radical feminist musician, is more successful than he is. Marga hates men, despises sex and wanted a child but not a partner. As a spoken word artist, she has become a cult figure and a great example for all kinds of radical feminist groups. In the meantime, Park tries to reconcile his radical upbringing with his being a man, his sexual desires and his wish to be a rapper.
Your Mother is a sharply humorous musical theatre performance about the recognizable battle between the way your parents think and yourself. About finding your identity. About how you can also be a feminist as a man. The absurd and hilarious stories of American writer John Irving serve as a source of inspiration for this rousing adaptation for the theatre floor and the world of today.
