An ode to Gershwin in trio format

To mark the trio's anniversary, the CD We Got Rhythm was released, entirely dedicated to the music of George Gershwin. The repertoire consists of a mix of idiosyncratic arrangements of well-known standards and more classical works, such as the 3 Preludes , piano arrangements, and excerpts from Rhapsody in Blue . In doing so, the trio bridges the gap between jazz and classical music.

Virtuosity and swing without drums

Rob van Bavel (piano), Frans van Geest (double bass), and Vincent Koning (guitar) are known for their tight interplay and strong sense of swing. Their sound is inspired by the traditional drumless trios of Oscar Peterson, Nat King Cole, and Art Tatum, among others, but is given a contemporary twist through modern influences and personal interpretations.

A rich musical journey

Since its inception, the trio has worked on various projects and recordings, ranging from intimate trio setups to collaborations with larger ensembles. For example, they have made recordings with a full string orchestra and collaborated with international artists, further expanding their versatility and musical scope.
