Piano trio Kenturah's Kitchen is a trio that makes "jazz of today": adventurous, full of surprising twists, very diverse. Their own work with influences from rock, hip hop/r&b, afro-cuban, classical etc. make it a unique trio.
Every last Sunday of the month Jazz in Crooswijk presents an intimate concert. This month: Kenturah's Kitchen. Pianist and composer Ed Baatsen, bassist Han Slinger and drummer Bert Kamsteeg formed Kenturah's Kitchen in 2011.
Their music is adventurous, full of surprising twists and improvisations with a signature all its own. The intensity of a solid groove, of quiet interaction. Rich melody formation, abrupt twists and never predictable. An adventure that takes you along as a listener. The trio brings contemporary jazz with influences from rock, R&B, hip hop, Afro-Cuban and classical music.
