Henri Demarquette en Victor Demarquette dialoog tussen cello en piano
Cellist Henri Demarquette is considered a musician with a distinct personality and an international career. At a young age, he already caught the attention of Yehudi Menuhin, who invited him to perform the Cello Concerto by Dvořák under his direction in Praag and Parijs.
He studied in Paris and worked with Paul Tortelier, among others, and plays the ‘Le Vaslin’, a Stradivarius cello from 1725, on loan to him from LVMH Moët Hennessy. Together with his son, pianist Victor Demarquette, he presents a programme in which intense interplay is central. The music of Beethoven, Cyprien Lengagne and Brahms shows how cello and piano reinforce each other in expression and character.
